For this wedding report I was guided to Leiden. Is that the worst pun ever? Perhaps. But fortunately I am a wedding photographer and not a poet or writer. When writing blogs and pages, I just type whatever comes to mind. Sometimes these are beautiful words and sometimes bizarrely bad puns. Like today. Fortunately, I had a better day at Iris and Niels' wedding. First of all, I am very charmed by Leiden. I think it is a really beautiful and pleasant city. My then started with Iris's preparations in their old, characteristic house. I love it! The wedding dress was on, make-up and hair were taken care of down to the last detail, it was high time to meet your future hubbie for the first time! For the first look we walked a few minutes from the house the Zijlpoort. Niels was already nervously waiting for Iris on a somewhat wobbly pier. But that tension disappeared after he saw his beautiful, red-haired, red-lipped wife-to-be Iris for the first time. That's off to a good start! In the meantime, a beautiful boat had already arrived for us and within a few minutes we were sailing on the canals of Leiden, looking for beautiful photo locations to capture these lovebirds. After a few stops and a lot of beautiful photos, we headed to the ceremony location. And that's not just any one. Hortus Botanicus Leiden is truly a breathtakingly beautiful place. Not only if you are a garden lover, but certainly also for me as a wedding photographer. A beautiful ceremony followed. After the ceremony there was a nice chat and cake, and hop, back on the boat! Restaurant La Plancha waited for us with delicious Spanish food. When bellies were full and tears had flowed during a number of speeches, it was time for a final boat trip. As the sun set we sailed back one more time to the Zijlpoort, where the evening party would take place. It was beautiful, Iris and Niels. Leiden, hopefully see you soon!
