It has been a while since I was a guest as a wedding photographer at the always impressive Château Neercanne in Maastricht. The weddings I have photographed there in recent years always have something magical. If you ask me, Château Neercanne is without a doubt one of the most breathtaking, courteous, luxurious and impressive wedding locations in Limburg, or actually in the whole of the Netherlands.
And for V&O's elegant and stylish wedding I was finally allowed to travel again to a beautiful part of Maastricht, literally on the border with Belgium. The landscape here is starting to undulate a bit and you secretly feel like you are on holiday in your own country. And I was one of the guests who live nearby. Because the company on this beautiful day was very diverse and came from at least 4 directions. People traveled to 'Mestreech' from all over the world. And so am I. I arrived in the sunny south in the morning with my trusted car fully loaded and dressed in my best outfit.
The day quickly started very well with a nice and relaxed atmosphere during the bride's preparations. I have the impression that the empty bottles of champagne on the table had something to do with this. There was also no stress among the men. Everything at ease, as it should be in Limburg. After the ties were tied and the dress zipped up, the bride and groom were enthusiastically received in the stately named Tsar Peter the Great Hall for the solemn wedding ceremony. A beautiful, personal ceremony with many speeches and tears followed. The yess sounded clearly and were concluded with champagne on the impressive outdoor terrace, where drinks and celebrations took place.
And yes, this castle would of course not be complete without a delicious and extensive dinner. The stately setting of the terrace was exchanged for the more rustic wine caves at the back of the castle. I always think that is a special setting! The guests enjoyed beautiful dishes and equally beautiful speeches. With our bellies full, the stage was set for a fantastic party in the caves of the castle. One cool place after another there!
I ended my day with a generous helping of confetti and got back into the car with the gold decorations in my hair. This was fun!
