It's been a while since I wrote a blog about award news. That was – in all honesty – because there wasn't much to report in that area. Did I no longer take beautiful, award-worthy photos? Absolutely. I just haven't focused so much on winning awards anymore. It's not why I photograph weddings, and instead of focusing on individual, stunning images, I've started to focus more on creating photo series that are simply top notch from A to Z. Ultimately, that's what it's all about.
Of course, that doesn't change the fact that I still take photos that could win prizes. And admittedly, I am sometimes curious whether my photos would still do well if I submitted them. So I thought: take another chance! After all, not shooting is always wrong. But it's even more fun when you hit the target. With this photo of Erik and Carlos I won 7th place in the category 'Brides and Grooms on their wedding day' at ISPWP. A great category to win a prize! For this photo I chose a more creative angle and crop. I find the result very beautiful and intimate and it is an image that makes me happy and proud of:
7th place worldwide in the category 'Brides and Grooms on their wedding day'
But there is more good news! I have won prizes not once, but twice. This time with absolutely one of my favorite images. You may have already seen it on my homepage or on the blog Romy and Thijmen. That was such a fun, beautiful and enjoyable day with so much fun and love, and this photo captured the day perfectly for me. Look at them shine! The 'ceremony' category is a tough category with many beautiful entries. I could hardly believe that I had won first place!
1st place worldwide in the 'Ceremony' category
Even though my emphasis is no longer so much on winning awards, I am still very happy with this appreciation!
