For those who have been following my work for a while, it will come as no news that I am no stranger to styled shoots. Beautiful locations, clothing and models, which also have beautiful make-up and hair styling. Everything taken care of down to the last detail! And I still enjoy taking those kinds of photos. It gives you a chance to go all out.
Only lately something started nagging at me. I wanted to look for depth. I longed for more feeling in my photos. More emotion and more intimacy. And above all: more personality. And somehow I had the feeling that all that styling might get in the way of that. So I decided to do a shoot that is in many ways the opposite of what I normally do. Because there was no make-up artist present for this shoot. There was no styling, and the location was the bedroom from which I am now writing this post. No frills, no fuss, but authenticity and purity.
Together with Carlijn I went in search of beautiful light and natural beauty, in its most sincere form. The result is this photo series. And I must confess: I am extremely excited to share this series with you. Not so much because of the fear that you will not like this, but more because of the fact that I think this work is much more personal than what you are used to from me.
I am therefore very curious about what you think of it. I'd love to read your comments!
