Our team.

These are Elmo, Yuka and Sammie, my other great loves. Sammie and Elmo left us in the past year, but I can't bring myself to remove them from this page yet.

Photography is my biggest passion and it's what I do best, but other than that I am someone with very broad hobbies and interests.
Space travel and psychology fascinate me endlessly and I have a soft spot for mechanical watches. Furthermore, I am a great animal lover and a real bon vivant who loves delicious food and drinks. I like to rock out on my bass guitar and when the weather is good nothing beats a motorbike ride.
I am an impulsive, somewhat stubborn, humorous, sometimes chaotic, but above all passionate photographer that will tell you what he thinks.
Traveling is in my blood. I have always been a curious person who loves to discover new things. My wanderlust feeds my curiosity, an important part of who I am.
With the love of my life Carine I explore the globe. Every year we travel to Brazil, back to her roots. We're also huge Asia fans and it's out dream to capture weddings there. Here in Europe we like to travel around in our self-built camper, on our way to relaxed holidays or epic weddings. Since 2024 we're the proud parents of our daughter Elis, an entirely new adventure to which we've been looking forward immensely.
All these joint experiences also also make us the perfect photo & video team.
Some of our most beautiful adventures

Photographing people who also have creative and artistic professions is always a joy for an average photographer. Actress Suzan Seegers is such a person. Known from TV and theater, including for her participation in 'Looking For Evita' and her role as Cosette in the Dutch rendition of the musical Les Miserables. But there was no acting on Suus and Rich's big day. Their love for each other is true to life! Surrounded by family, friends and colleagues, they got married in an always pleasant atmosphere De Gaard estate. What fun, what emotion, what a wonderful atmosphere. A day dedicated to love, friendship, fun and beautiful weather! For me personally, the day was even more fun because my lovely other half Carine – also a wedding photographer – came with me as a second shooter. A day like that is completely complete for me. After the wedding we went for a lovely walk at sunset. Yes, sometimes life as a wedding photographer isn't all that bad. (more…)
What a pleasure it was to return to the wonderful Kasteel de Hoogenweerth. I'm going to keep the story short this time. This day was amazing. Check it out and enjoy:
How nice it was to get back on Hoogenweerth Castle to be! Look, that rhymes. And although Fiona and Dirk are not two names that rhyme particularly well, their love certainly does. I actually don't want to waste too many words on it. See for yourself and enjoy:
It's not every day that you, as a wedding photographer, get to photograph at two of the most beautiful wedding locations in your region, if not in the country. Both Château St. Gerlach and Château Neercanne are beautiful locations for photography. Femke and Jorrit have good taste, that's clear. This good taste was not only reflected in their choice of locations. When I entered their beautiful house in South Limburg to photograph the preparations, I immediately became jealous.
After the preparations we left for St. Gerlach for a beautiful legal ceremony in the castle garden. Then delicious cake outside the castle. The atmosphere was already good when the group left by bus for Chateau Neercanne.
Oh, and then there was the rain. A dinner was planned on Neercanne's balcony. But do you think Femke and Jorrit were chased away by a little rain? No. The umbrellas came out, 'It's Raining Men' was set up and there was singing and dancing under the umbrellas. The day ended in the caves of the castle. A wonderful end to a great day!
After the annual winter break, it is always very exciting to start the wedding season again. You haven't photographed a wedding for a few months. Janine and Robert's wedding report at the beautiful Hoogenweerth Castle in Maastricht was number two. But be honest, with such a sweet and beautiful couple in front of the lens, you completely forget the tension surrounding the newly started wedding season. What a great day for photography!

The American wedding of Hella and Ryan. What a fairytale it was! During a trip to Paris, the idea emerged to get married in Europe. “That's madness!”, was Ryan's first response. But as time went by, both Ryan and Hella started getting used to the idea, thinking that maybe it can be done. More time went by, and in August their big day had finally arrived. Getting married in the beautiful Château Neercanne in Maastricht, what a stunning venue to celebrate your love.
I'm so happy that I was trusted with capturing their wedding day. Enjoy the photographs:

And then before you know it it's January again. Time has flown by this past year! And although a new year is actually no more than a number on the calendar that changes, it seems to be built into human beings that a new year also means a new beginning.
I personally see it a little differently. A new year is not a new beginning, but an evolution of the past year.
In any case, I hope that will be true for 2017. Because if 2017 is going to be an evolution of 2016, then it promises to be a great year. Actually, I don't have that many words to summarize the past year. It was amazing, it was beautiful, it was sweet, it was emotional, it was funny. But it was also heavy, difficult and intense. 2016 was a year in which I was able to experience so many beautiful things, but also the year in which the hard work almost became too much for me.
And yet, when I look back on the beautiful weddings I had the pleasure of photographing this year, I don't have an ounce of regret. Because I have the best job in the world, and you work a little too hard with love for that.
From the bottom of my heart I thank all my wonderful, beautiful and sweet bridal couples who have given me the trust to capture their big day over the past year.

Join me for a selection of my favorites from 2016:
I am so very happy that I was able to make photography my profession. It allows me to see and do so many beautiful things, even traveling for work! But especially to work a lot with people. That's actually what I prefer to do. So in that respect I can truly call myself a blessed person. I regularly feel the need to pinch myself to see if everything is reality.
A week or 2 ago there were more of those pinch moments. During a delicious sushi dinner on a Friday evening, I suddenly received a message from a colleague informing me that I had won a Fearless award. That was one of my goals for 2016, and I was so happy that I succeeded at the last minute! For those who are not familiar with the Fearless Awards: This is a very prestigious, worldwide competition for wedding photography, in which only the very best photos from many thousands of entries are awarded an award. You can imagine that I couldn't run out of luck anymore. I am also still very happy with this photo that I was allowed to take during one of the first weddings of this year:
But the weekend wasn't over yet, and more great news arrived. In addition to the Fearless award, I have also won not one but two Masters of Dutch Wedding Photography Awards! 'The Masters' as they are called for short, represent the absolute top of the Dutch wedding photography industry. It is therefore a huge honor to win a prize in this competition, which was judged by an international jury.
The photos that won prizes are really two of my favorites from the past year. For me, the first winning photo represents the ultimate family feeling. Pablo and his mother have a warm embrace during the 'giving away', while Pablo's brother watches emotionally in the background.
And the second winning photo is also very special. Because have you ever seen such a photogenic pigeon?
In any case, I'm freaking out. What a wonderful way to end the year!

Now that the days have become a lot shorter and especially colder, it is always a good idea to look back at the beautiful late summer we had. At the beginning of September the bohemian wedding of this very beautiful and fun couple was photographed. Sanne and Job are really one of those couples where you realize after a minute that they belong together. They are so crazy about each other, and it shows! But it wasn't just the bridal couple that was incredibly beautiful. The whole day was a picture. Getting married in Job's parents' garden, where a real bohemian festival wedding was organised, full of personal and do-it-yourself elements. Together with a close group of family and friends, and a food truck that provided delicious food, the day was complete. I've enjoyed it!
Why wouldn't you also celebrate your engagement extensively and exuberantly with friends, family and acquaintances? Jessika and Sanal did it, and how! Their Indian engagement was a wonderfully beautiful and colorful mix of Indian and Dutch cultures. Jessika in a traditional Indian dress, and then taking photos together at a traditional Dutch windmill. I find such great contrasts amazing. And of course there was a beautiful ceremony, a delicious dinner and a fantastic party. With the icing on the cake being a short but oh so beautiful photo shoot at sunset.
Many friends and relatives flew all the way from India to the Netherlands to experience it. That makes such a day a little extra special. In any case, it was a pleasure to be there!
Getting married at Château Neercanne, who would have thought? At least, that's what Hella and Ryan thought. All the way from America, they came up with the idea of getting married in Paris during a trip to Europe. However, that turned out not to be so easy to arrange. And then almost by chance they came across the beautiful Château Neercanne in Maastricht. What a breathtakingly beautiful location, located in the hills of South Limburg. You almost feel like you're in France when you look around here! Hella and Ryan made it a wonderful day with guests who arrived in South Limburg from all over the world. Enjoy the photos!

Meanwhile, a few weeks ago I photographed the wonderful wedding of Yvonne and Dominique. What a beautiful day that was! Perfect weather, a perfect location and a perfect bridal couple. A day full of creativity, humor, love and fun. One of those days when, as a photographer, you don't even notice that you are actually still working, because it doesn't feel that way at all.
You will see an extra special moment at the bottom of this series: Yvonne and Dominique had planned a surprise. They had given their very good friend Roy permission to propose to his beloved Simone. So instead of throwing the bouquet, the bouquet was given to Simone, whereupon Roy asked her to marry him. What a beautiful and romantic end to this day. Yvonne and Dominique, thank you!
