MENTORING FOR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS

An article about sales techniques told me that I should start this story with a funny story about how much experience I have, how many weddings I have shot, how many awards I have to my name. In short, a bit of bragging to reinforce my expertise and expertise, so that you think: 'Woah, I have to have this guy'. I'd rather leave that out. No, I like to do it my own way.

I had been thinking about offering mentoring for a long time. I like to share my knowledge and I am someone who really enjoys helping people. That's the nature of the beast. But where do you start? What do I have to offer in the enormous range of workshops and mentoring? Doubts and insecurities abound. But then it suddenly became clear: I just have to do it my way. Because one of my biggest challenges in the early years was finding a direction. I'm going to help you find YOUR WAY.

Admittedly, that's quite a cliché. But no matter how corny this statement is, if there is one sector where this is absolutely true, it is wedding photography. I think there are 1000 ways to become and be a good wedding photographer.

There is only one photographer who is like you. In our mentoring we look for your own unique path to being a good photographer. We will look at your strengths and weaknesses, as a photographer but especially as a person. We look at how this translates into your work as a wedding photographer and we will work on how you can get the most out of yourself, without losing your individuality.
And whatever comes out, I promise you that I will be honest. That I say what I think, whether I like it or not.
But I always keep 'your way' in mind.

WHO AM I?

We start our Your Way collaboration with a good foundation. We will get to know you thoroughly and form an idea of who you are as a person and as a photographer. We're talking about your dreams, your goals and your ideal client.

FOR THE LIONS

We're going to discuss rough weddings together. I'll throw you to the lions. I'm going to look at how to photograph weddings and how it can be improved. Which images do you select and Why? We look thoroughly at how you work, how you shape your images, capture moments, deal with light, but also at the technical side and your post-processing.

PRESENTATIE & COMMUNICATIE

Your website, social media channels and communication with your customers are examined. Your company will be examined and we will look together at how this fits in with where you want to go as a photographer and how this fits in with reaching your ideal customers.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE

My total mentoring process consists of 8 sessions of about 16 hours in total. The process takes about six months, but I am available for you for up to a year. We do mentoring at your pace. Because not everyone learns equally quickly and not everyone picks up change and new habits equally quickly. I believe you learn best at your own pace.

In any case, the mentoring can also be tailor-made. Do you want to put more emphasis on a certain part? For example, on journalistic photography, your presentation or your technique? That's possible. You can also book additional sessions at a reduced rate where we delve deeper into a specific topic.
