London baby! Sorry, but every time London comes up, I have to shout this out. I blame Friends. Those who know the show know what I mean. But even before Friends settled in London, I had the opportunity to visit this beautiful and vibrant city a time or two. I was a budding teenager, I think in the 90s, and I never thought I would become a professional wedding photographer. I really enjoyed taking photos back then. Well, who wouldn't? I did such a tour with my parents in a double-decker London bus with an open roof, but we also went to the musical Miss Saigon. An impressive experience to this day!>
Fast-forward to 2019, about 20-25 years later. But London still has a special place, now for a completely different reason. Since I met my life partner and partner-in-crime, who lives in London Carine met, I visit the city regularly. And that's always a party, because London is always buzzing everywhere. However, this time my visit was of a different nature. Because besides the fact that Carina almost has the same name as 'my' Carine, Carina and René have another similarity: He lives in the Netherlands and she lives in London. I get to photograph their wedding in the Netherlands next month, but they also really wanted to do an engagement shoot in London. That can of course be arranged! So hop in the car to Brussels, jump on the train, and arrive 2 hours later at King's Cross in the heart of London. And a day or two later I met Carina and René for the shoot. We had selected a few nice locations that are very London, but not necessarily overly touristy. We started the shoot in and around the South Bank, then headed to picturesque Little Venice and ended the shoot in Richmond Park. All beautiful and diverse locations. We had a very nice day together with beautiful weather. And apart from the fact that the sun was shining, Carina and René were shining just as brightly.
