WEDDING FILM: Julia and Riley get married in the south of France in Prayssac

Prayssac. You've probably never heard of it and neither did I until about 5 years ago. But brought there Mellaney and Joachim changed when they got married there and I was allowed to take the photos. What I didn't know then was that in the years that followed, I was allowed to return to this magical place more than 10 times for the always wonderful weddings with FATE Or Happiness. This super team consists of none other than – you may have guessed it – Mellaney and Joachim who decided after their own wedding to Château Camp del Saltré to operate and organize weddings for Dutch couples who want to get married in the South of France.

In the meantime, Prayssac is pretty much my second home in France. With our camper van fully loaded, Carine and I drove past the vineyards of the Cahors wine region. It is always quite a temptation not to stop everywhere to 'have a taste'. But with a bus full of stuff through the narrow, winding streets, that is not a good idea. Fortunately, Camp del Saltré and the adjacent vineyard were not far away. The castle is located on a spacious estate with plenty of beautiful space to park our bus. We quickly found a beautiful, somewhat secluded spot at the front of the site, sheltered by the shade of one of the many large trees.

We soon met Julia and Riley. Two pretty blondes. A cheerful couple who thoroughly enjoyed the guests and Jo's delicious pizzas. The great thing about a weekend wedding is that the atmosphere is extra relaxed. There is all the time in the world to have a good time, but also to catch up with people you may not have seen in a long time. Julia and Riley's entire weekend was just a blast. Wonderfully relaxed and airy, no stress and just enjoy yourself to the fullest. We chose a wedding film with a montage that is a bit quieter and slower and therefore a bit longer. I know from experience that a glass of French wine is ideal for watching this video:

WEDDING FILM: Melissa and Bob get married in France

The whole COVID thing is still fresh in my mind, but to be very honest it no longer concerns me at all. For me personally, it wasn't all bad. The lockdowns and cancellation of weddings gave me a lot of 'quality time' with Carine. We decided to tackle a major project: converting a van into a camper with which we could travel around Europe. We have already completed a number of very nice trips.
But also on a business level it gave us the time to tackle new things that you would otherwise not have time for. We started making wedding films during this period. Carine does the video part and I do the photos and audio myself. Super fun to work with your favorite person in the world and it is very nice for our customers that we can now offer both photography and videography.

Maybe you guys have the wedding photos of Bob and Melissa already seen passing by. But what you don't know is that we also made a wedding film for them. For the second wedding film we ever made, we drove to the always beautiful place with the car fully loaded Château Camp Del Saltré for another beautiful day with the cutest ones from LOT Of Happiness. Sometimes I am asked what is better: photos or video. But actually it's apples and oranges. Still images portray events in a very different way than video. They freeze moments that last a fraction of a second and thus immortalize them. A video, in turn, is beautiful because it shows everything in motion. You can see how moments and emotions arise and how they develop. I think photo and video together really make a great team that shows your beautiful day in all its facets. A marriage of two mediums, so to speak!

Getting married in the south of France – Wedding at Camp del Saltre

Destination Wedding South of France – Lot – Mellaney&Joachim

After my previous trip to France in May last year, I was eager to fly to the sunny South again for a wedding in the South of France. When I received an email from Mellaney and Joachim in October last year asking if I was still available to photograph their Destination Wedding, my heart naturally started beating a little faster. That didn't change when it turned out that Mellaney and Joachim are also a very nice couple. Then as far as I'm concerned, the fun can't stop! The necessary email contact followed, and I was soon allowed to put the date in my agenda, which of course resulted in a little dance of joy. A flight was booked, a car was rented, and the sweet bridal couple-to-be had even arranged a very nice B&B for me. Absolutely great! At the beginning of June I traveled again. From Amsterdam to Bordeaux, and from Bordeaux spend an hour or two trekking through the beautiful French landscape. And then I'm already starting to get an itch!

And then, the big day arrived. It was still exciting, because the weather forecasts were, to put it mildly, quite changeable. But we couldn't have had a more beautiful day. A lovely temperature, and with just a small cloud in front of the sun so that it didn't get too hot. Ideal. On Sunday morning I drove to beautiful Chateau Camp del Saltre. Wow, what a beautiful place! The group was still relaxing at breakfast and some music was played here and there. Wonderful, such a musical family! Arriving in such a nice atmosphere really feels like a warm bath, and the rest of the day is no different. How I enjoyed this day! The wonderful bridal couple, the wonderful and warm company, the beautiful wedding ceremony by Mark from Mooi Trouwen, delicious food and a fantastic party with live music from The Candy Stripes. The day ended with the release of a batch of wish balloons. That made this wedding complete. I'm still enjoying it now, and I hope you enjoy this photo series too.
