Volendam. The city is best known for fishing and the many artists who come from it. A city sung about in many songs. But also a city that was missing from my long list of wedding reports. So it's about time!
Together with the men of Most Beautiful Film I traveled to North Holland to capture the special wedding of Sandra and Kees. And I can tell you, it was worth the long trip a thousand times over. Wow, what a wonderfully beautiful and special day this was. So much friendship, love, openness and care are somewhat rare. It was so special to see how close Sandra and Kees are with their family and friends, but also how the Volendam community always helps and supports each other where necessary. And as you may know, I always love a great party at the end of the day. In Hotel Spaander the roof finally came off. What a perfect way to end a wedding!
On the way back home I thought the following. For me, Volendam is no longer the city of fish and music. For me, Volendam is now the city of love and friendship. I can't wait to return to this special place!
