Incredible India. That's the name and slogan of the Indian government to promote international tourism to this fascinating country. And I think the phrase describes the country very well.
As a destination wedding photographer, you can imagine that shooting an India wedding is an experience to never forget. Very few countries are as chaotic, colorful, crazy, loud and complex as India. And that just happens to be the beauty of it. India is a country that you love or hate and I happen to love it.
Wedding Photography in India
So where did my love for India weddings come from? I had the honor of shooting a Dutch-Indian multicultural wedding late 2017 in Calicut. I remember it very vividly. I had been traveling around India for a couple of weeks before arriving in Calicut. A huge typhoon had just struck the area so the first day of the wedding was moved to an indoors venue. Luckily, on the big wedding day the sun was out and burning! Stay hydrated, people. The wedding was just fascinating. From the dress, to the colorful chaotic ceremony with all kinds of rituals, to the evening party which was wild! This wedding day for me was a perfect summary of my India experience. I can't wait to submerge myself in the crazy, beautiful Indian culture again.
