“Je cherche le Chateau de Balmoral”
After being on the road for almost an hour longer than planned, this was the best French I got out of it. Due to apparently unannounced work, there was a very long traffic jam, which meant I arrived at the wedding location in quite a hurry and even a little late: Chateau de Balmoral in Spa. My route planner had sent me down the wrong street, but luckily a hotel clerk was able to point me in the right direction. His Dutch was just as bad as my French, but I could still understand “à droite” and “un kilomètre”.
I grabbed my things from the car and ran towards the entrance of a castle. Wow, what a beautiful place to get married! A cheerful Yvo greeted me, and soon there was no more stress. On to the bride, who was still making the final preparations. Also such a picture to see. How lucky I was today with this beautiful couple! And it only got better. After an hour or so the clouds cleared and it was nothing less than a perfectly beautiful day. The bridal couple had spent a lot of time selecting and making all kinds of accessories and attributes, and it showed. The fabulous decoration from Fabuloes Weddings and a finger-licking sweet table completed it completely.
After a beautiful day of photography, I drove back to the Netherlands full of satisfaction. Yvon and Yvo, thank you for the great day!
